This course is ideal for learners with upper-intermediate to advanced English proficiency (at least above B1). Each week, learners engage in English debates on diverse global topics, divided into pros and cons groups. Debate topics are selected based on the learners’ interests and overall speaking abilities. Preparation time will be given before each class with the random allocation – either pros or cons. Enhance your logical and critical thinking abilities as well as structural ability in English language through this course!
Many people have a good level of English but still have to improve how to speak and discuss fluently. Come along and get involved in stimulating, varied and sometimes controversial topics that will help you to think critically in the English language. From issues of morality through to motivation and the role of the man and woman in the 21st century, there is sure to be enough to activate lively discussions. Would you like to refine and expand your English language skills in a stimulating and engaging learning environment? This course offers the opportunity to discuss a wide range of current and seasonal topics, explore short stories and selected literary texts, and, where appropriate, read and analyse a book together. Particular emphasis is placed on developing fluency, enriching vocabulary, and expressing ideas with greater confidence and precision.
