Since 2013, The Canal and River Trust and The Poetry Society have appointed a Canal Laureate: a poet commissioned to create new work about the canal network to surprise and delight those who live and work on the waterways. Poems have appeared in concrete fish passes, stencilled onto towpaths, and engraved in heavy lock gates, as well as in films and books. Nancy Campbell, the Canal Laureate during 2018/2019 (and currently resident in Villa Concordia) will talk about the demands and diversions of this unusual job, and read some of the poems that resulted from her travels around the waterways by kayak, bicycle and narrowboat.
Nancy Campbell ist zurzeit Stipendiatin des Internationalen Künstlerhauses Villa Concordia e.V.
